Exhibition Introduction
China International Expo of Food Safety Science and Technology is a state-level landmark year exhibition. This Expo which takes science and technology as its precursor and product quality management as its ultimate bases itself upon Weifang City, extensively invites business persons domestic and abroad to discuss and exchange issues about food safety technology and trend of future food safety science and technology development, as well as to build an exclusive scientific and international brand exhibition which will be the most potential and will provide food products enterprises all-round safety production protection technology and products hand-in-hand.
Shandong Province is the largest base of primary products and foodstuff producing and processing in china. Now, there are more than 20000 foodstuff enterprises in Shandong Province, and over 4000 of these are foreign-invested enterprises. There are about 1200 foodstuff enterprises in Weifang City, 80% of these are exported oriented enterprises. More than 1000 enterprises testing laboratories and monitoring and testing institutions with level ranging from state-level to all levels are available. It is becoming the most urgent affair to improve production quality and testing technology level.
China International Expo of Food Safety Science and Technology will be held in Fuwah International Exhibition Center in Weifang City on March 26th -28th ,2008 according to the requirements of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of People’s Republic of China, and requirements of the activity of China special production quality and food safety renovation and site meeting in Weifang City, Shandong Province held by State Council Product Quality and Foodstuff Safety Leader Group.
1. The reason why China International Expo of Food Safety Science and Technology will be held in Weifang City, Shandong Province lies in the followings:
1) Weifang City is the largest production base of high quality primary products, the largest distributing center of primary products, and also the most largest and important town of export-oriented primary products and foodstuff production and processing. Weifang City will be a world-famous world-class center of foodstuff production and export processing in the future.
2) Site Meeting of National Product Quality and Foodstuff Safety Special Renovation were held in Weifang City, Shandong Province on October 25th -26th , 2007. Wuyi, vice premier of State Council of PRC and team leader of State Council Product Quality and Foodstuff Safety Leader Group, and all the members of the Leader Group attended the meeting.
3) The People’s Government of Weifang has successfully held Weifang International Kite Festival for 24 times and China (Shouguang) International Vegetable Science and Technology Expo for 8 times.
2. China International Expo of Food Safety Science and Technology will hold several exhibitions:

--- Strengthen technology exchange and cooperation between foodstuff production enterprises and food safety inspection laboratories, testing institutions and food safety counseling service institutions in such aspects as inspection, appraisal, testing, counseling, training, auditing, and authentication service, as well as research and developments.

Preface
